Ramadan & Eid Apparel Production Calendar: When to Place Your Order
For modest-wear and occasion-apparel brands in the GCC, the year turns on two peaks: Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (plus Eid al-Adha). Miss the window and your stock arrives after the buying frenzy. This calendar tells you exactly when to book a China factory.
The rule: order 8–10 weeks before the sell-through peak, not 3.
The Peak Windows
| Event | Buying spikes | Book factory by |
|---|---|---|
| Ramadan | Weeks before & during fasting | ~10 weeks prior |
| Eid al-Fitr | 1–2 weeks before | ~8 weeks prior |
| Eid al-Adha | Pre-holiday gifting | ~8 weeks prior |
Why the Long Lead Time
Sampling (10–15 days) + bulk (10–15 days) + sea freight to GCC (20–30 days) + clearance = 6–8 weeks minimum. Air can compress freight but not production. A slip of two weeks can mean arriving post-Eid.
Sample-First, Then Surge
- Off-season: approve 4–6 PP samples (no time pressure).
- 8 weeks before peak: bulk the proven winners.
- 4 weeks before: air-freight a hot restock.
- Peak: sell; reorder fast movers by air.
Frequently Asked Questions
How early should I order Eid stock?
~8 weeks before the Eid sell-through peak: 2–3 weeks sampling/bulk + ~4 weeks sea + clearance. Earlier if you want air buffer.
Can I skip sampling at peak?
Only if you pre-approved the PP sample off-season. Otherwise sampling eats your window. Plan ahead.
Air or sea for Eid?
Sea for the main buy; air for a 2–3 week pre-Eid hot restock. Air compresses freight, not make time.
